Last year, Kum & Go introduced its first Bistro location in Walnut, Iowa, and the retailer has continued to expand the prototype since. The company has now opened its first Missouri-based Bistro-layout location in Aurora, Missouri.

The Kum & Go Bistro is the Midwestern convenience retailer’s newest store layout. Its design is a “mini-me” of the existing Marketplace layout, according to Kum & Go. The stores come in at under 4,000 square feet, and put “the focus on both the retailer’s food and fuel options with plenty of indoor seating and fuel pumps outside.”

As of this year, Kum & Go Bistro is now in eight locations across six different states.

“More than anyone, I am elated to see Kum & Go’s continued investment in the state of Missouri and the Springfield market,” said Kum & Go District Supervisor Geoff Gold. “Aurora is a fantastic community, and the team at Store #2404 is ready to welcome them to Kum & Go!”

The Aurora location is celebrating its grand opening on October 30, with vendors such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Boston Beer Company in attendance throughout the week.

Earlier this month, Kum & Go earned an award for its new mobile app, which launched in August. “Thanks to our incredible Kum & Go team and external partners like Orium, we’ve been able to launch a best-in-class mobile experience to our customers,” said Matt Anderson, director of digital customer experience at Kum & Go. “Feedback since launching has been overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to continuing to improve the way we interact and connect with our customers in the digital landscape.”
