Weigel’s HR Strategies Win Excellence Award

The convenience retailer was recognized by the Brandon Hall Group.

Weigel’s, a family-owned convenience retailer with 75 stores throughout Tennessee, is celebrating an award that recognizes its HR strategies.

Weigel’s concentrated on improving the overall employee experience through a partnership with Paylocity. 

Weigel’s focused on three main areas:

  • Flexible schedules: Empowering employees with the flexibility they need to balance work and life.
  • On-demand wages: Providing early access to earned wages through Paylocity’s On Demand Payment solution.
  • Strong workplace culture and open communication: Fostering a culture of positivity and open lines of communication among employees. 

“We are thrilled to be recognized for our innovative partnership with Paylocity to enhance our HCM solution, driving impact across our business,” said Melanie Disney, director of human resources at Weigel’s. “We constantly seek innovative ways to engage our employees, communicate effectively, and provide them with the benefits they need to succeed and grow with us.”

In August, Weigel’s unveiled its largest store to date, a 6,400-square-foot location in Piney Flats, Tennessee. “The Piney Flats store will offer a selection of convenience products, from freshly prepared meals and snacks to an array of beverages, Weigel’s dairy products and household essentials. The open floor plan allows for easy navigation and a comprehensive shopping experience,” the company said in a press release.
