Help Show Elected Officials that Convenience Matters
Every day, members of Congress work on legislation that can have a very real impact on you and your business. The annual NACS Day on the Hill, formerly known as the Government Relations Conference, educates you on how to be the best advocate for your business and brings you face to face with your policymakers. The conference gives you the opportunity to explain your business and share how policies will directly affect your business and our industry.
Before you go on Capitol Hill to speak directly with lawmakers, NACS prepares you with a training video and briefing materials for each issue prior to the event. The afternoon session will focus on getting to know the issues that you’ll be discussing with members of Congress and their staff and allow you time to get to know the industry peers you’ll be teamed with for hitting the Hill. We are dedicated to training you to be a strong advocate both in your Hill meetings the next day and beyond.
The team at NACS:
This conference provides you with a better understanding of current industry issues, how they directly affect the way you do business, and how they are being legislated. It also offers an opportunity for you to interact with retailers facing the same challenges and issues. And most importantly, it gives you the opportunity to educate members of Congress about issues they’re voting on. They want to hear from their constituents and people like you – people who live and work hard each day —so that they can do their jobs better for the people who elected them. As a constituent, your voice matters. Be a part of the conversation and help protect convenience across the country by attending this year’s conference!

From a Past Attendee
“The NACS Government Relations Conference is an absolute must attend event. It allows you to be better informed on the current issues and concerns of the c-store industry. Which in turn allows you to become a better-informed partner and supplier to the c-store Industry. You come away from the event with a holistic view and understanding of the convenience stores day-to-day business. The NACS staff does an excellent job in preparing you for meeting with members of Congress and making you comfortable.”

NACS is no longer reimbursing NACSPAC donors for travel to and from Day on the Hill as we have done the past several years. After an analysis of other associations, we realized that NACS is the only association that was reimbursing travel for an industry fly-in. In addition, most associations charge a registration fee to cover food and beverage. To be fiscally responsible, the Political Engagement Committee decided that our policies should be more consistent with those of other associations by not reimbursing for travel. NACS is not charging a registration fee and will continue to provide food & beverage at the meetings without charge as well as local transportation to Capitol Hill from the hotel.
