NACS In Store

The NACS In Store program brings convenience and fuel industry retailers, members of Congress, and communities together by offering Members of Congress the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of our industry. The program offers legislators direct insight into c-store operations and the vital role we play in our communities.

Members of Congress Get an Up-Close Look at Local Businesses in Our Industry

Our elected representatives develop laws that can help or hurt your business. It’s critical that legislators understand our industry and the communities you serve to help them make informed decisions that positively impact your business.

The NACS In Store program connects convenience and fuel retailers with their members of Congress by offering legislators the opportunity to visit a convenience store in their home district or state. Through the program, legislators see the industry in action and hear of the pressing issues impacting retailers. Here’s how:

  • The NACS In Store program gives elected officials a first-hand look at daily operations of running a convenience store – from the fuel pumps to behind the check-out counter.
  • The visit allows for natural conversations about the policy issues that impact business operations.
  • Members of Congress learn all the ways in which the industry serves their local communities, from the locations of our stores, to the products we offer, and much more.
  • Through direct interactions with store management, associates and even customers, legislators gain an understanding and appreciation for not only the store operation in which they are working, but also for the broader convenience and fuel retailing industry.

Legislators Become Better Informed

McGovern

Through In Store visits, elected leaders across the country get to see our industry in action, joining the 2.75 million employees who work in the convenience store industry and serve an estimated 160 million Americans every day. When they return to Congress, members are better informed and better equipped to make decisions about legislation and resulting regulations that can affect our industry.
