Mountain Dew is bringing back its Baja Cabo Citrus to shelves nationwide as a permanent flavor, a spokesperson for the company told NACS.
The company describes the drink as a “zippy twist on the legendary Baja Blast taste fans know and love, delicious tropical citrus punch with notes of mandarin and lime flavors.”
To celebrate the return of the soda, Mountain Dew launched its Mountain Dew's Baja Cabo Citrus Calculator. “Fans can head to BajaCaboCitrusCalculator.com, enter how many weeks they went without Baja Cabo Citrus, and get paid back bottle for bottle with free product coupons. Plus, every entry gets a shot at one of seven $10,000 cash prizes (enough for an actual Cabo trip),” Mountain Dew said.
Over at Bud Light, the brand announced it will be airing a commercial titled “Keg” during the Super Bowl, featuring singer Post Malone, actor and comedian Shane Gillis and Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
Along with the new ad, Bud Light said it is also offering a nationwide keg rebate, and “giving away hundreds of keg's worth of Bud Light to fans in the AFC and NFC Champion cities and providing fans in Foxborough [Massachusetts] and Seattle with the opportunity to win tickets to Super Bowl LX in the San Francisco Bay Area.”
Michelob Ultra also recently announced it would be airing a commercial during the game, “with a campaign that combines two of the biggest cultural moments of the year in America—the Super Bowl and the Olympic Winter Games. The [ad] brings together superior names in sports and entertainment, including Hollywood icon Kurt Russell and actor Lewis Pullman, making their Super Bowl commercial debut alongside Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim and Olympian and NHL champion T.J. Oshie.”
As part of the campaign, Michelob Ultra is also turning Super Bowl LX into a "Race to the Finish," where viewers can follow along on social for a chance to win prizes, including signed props and merch featured in the ad and tickets to upcoming sporting events.
In retailer Super Bowl news, 7-Eleven is serving up a number of deals for the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8. From February 8-9, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can buy one whole pizza and get another for $3. Customers can also opt for the $5 Meal Deal, featuring two pizza slices and a 20 oz Coca-Cola, Sprite, Pepsi or Mountain Dew beverage.
