In celebration of World Kindness Day on November 13, the Wawa Foundation intends to recognize and inspire generosity across its communities with its announcement of a $100,000 match of customer donations to its annual in-store fundraising campaign to support hunger relief.
The company’s annual Check-Out Hunger campaign is running November 13 through December 10.
The campaign invites customers to donate $1, $3 or $5 at the register to support local Feeding America Food Banks as part of Check Out Hunger in-store fundraising efforts. The direct donation and match to the annual Check-Out Hunger campaign recognizes the donations of Wawa customers who pay it forward and provide support directly to their community.
“We are so grateful for the many special moments of positivity that take place in Wawa stores every day, and we are honored to recognize the generosity of our customers to help their local communities, friends and neighbors in need by matching donations,” said Maria Kalogredis, chairperson of the Wawa Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who is playing a role in sharing, inspiring or paying forward kindness on World Kindness Day.”
NACS Daily reported last month that Maverik made a $250,000 donation to Feeding America to kick-off its annual Round Up Your Change program. The program invites customers to round up their in-store cash and credit transactions to help end hunger with Feeding America.
