Maverik Launches Round Up Your Change Campaign

Customers can choose to donate to Feeding America.

October 19, 2023

Maverik kicked off its annual giving drive through two initiatives with Feeding America. The first initiative consisted of a $250,000 donation to Feeding America, which will be followed by Maverik’s annual Round Up Your Change program. The program invites customers to round up their in-store cash and credit transactions to the nearest dollar or more to help end hunger with Feeding America.

The campaign started October 18 and will run until November 30. Ninety percent of the donations will remain local while the remainder will support the Feeding America national organization.

“We understand food insecurity and hunger continues to face so many of our neighbors across our local communities,” said Chuck Maggelet, CEO and chief adventure guide of Maverik. “That’s why we’re proud to team up with Feeding America again this fall to help support people in need, while offering an avenue for our customers to do so as well if they choose.”

In 2022, Maverik’s Round Up campaign donated more than $470,000 to Feeding America, helping provide more than 4.7 million meals across 16 local food banks in 12 states. The company has also donated more than 994,000 pounds of surplus food through its food waste reduction program, helping to provide more than 800,000 meals.

In other recent charitable news, Volta Oil raised over $170,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts/New Hampshire and Travel Centers of America raised over $156,000 through its round-up campaign for the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund, which supports truck drivers who have had to take time off from driving due to injury or illness.
