Weigel’s recently celebrated its Weigel’s Family Christmas for the 28th year. “This season, 300 children across the region will experience a holiday to remember thanks to the ongoing partnership between the Weigel’s Foundation, the Salvation Army and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. Each child, ages five to eight, will receive $250 for a personalized shopping experience at Target, helping ensure every child feels the joy, independence and excitement of a holiday filled with possibility,” the retailer said.

The celebration begins with a holiday breakfast at the Knoxville Expo Center before children and volunteers head to Target to shop for gifts. Weigel’s team members then help create a “joyful and supportive environment” for the children throughout the day.

Weigel’s said with this year’s event, Weigel’s Family Christmas surpasses 5,300 children served since the program began in 1998.

“What started as a small gesture to support local families has grown into something truly special,” said Bill Weigel, chairman of Weigel’s. “The generosity of our volunteers, vendor partners and community members is what makes this program possible year after year. It is a reminder of what the holidays are all about—hope, kindness and caring for one another.”

EG America recently supported families at the Greater Holyoke YMCA in Massachusetts, according to a LinkedIn post.

“A $5,000 community partnership contribution was presented to the Greater Holyoke YMCA, supporting the Y-Kids Preschool Thanksgiving Family Engagement Feast which helped to provide 50 Thanksgiving Turkey Meal Kits for local families. … We are grateful for our community partners who strengthen families, support youth development and create meaningful impact across the region,” the retailer said in the post.

Love’s Travel Stops recently partnered with the Holiday Meals for Military program, according to a LinkedIn post.

“We were honored to once again partner with Operation Homefront for its Holiday Meals for Military program, where we provided 150 meal kits filled with everything needed for a traditional holiday meal, plus a few extra goodies, to military members and their families. A big thank you to our incredible volunteers for making this event possible. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help brighten the holiday season for military families,” Love’s said in the post.
