Murphy USA recently donated $1 million to United Way of Greater Union Country, a nonprofit in New Jersey, according to a LinkedIn post.
“As we celebrate the season of Thanksgiving, we pause to reflect on all we have to be thankful for—especially our employees who give, uplift and invest in the families and neighbors who need it most,” the retailer said.
Murphy USA said the gift “reflects the heart of our people. Thank you to our employees for continually showing up for their communities and embodying the spirit of giving that defines this season.”
Over at Stewart’s Shops, the retailer is kicking off its 40th annual Holiday Match season, which began on Thanksgiving Day.
“From Thanksgiving through Christmas, Stewart’s will double all donations made at over 400 shops located in Upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. Since 1986, Holiday Match has raised more than $39 million for local nonprofit organizations whose programs benefit children,” the retailer said.
Stewart’s said the Holiday Match program raised over $1.76 million for 1,765 local children’s organizations in 2024.
Citgo Petroleum Corporation recently honored Homelessness Awareness Month by making a $60,000 donation to organizations that provide food, shelter, healthcare and other support services to the homeless in communities where the company operates.
The following organizations all received $15,000 from Citgo: Corpus Christi (Texas) Metro Ministries; Healthcare for the Homeless-Houston (HHH); Sulphur (Louisiana) Christian Community Coalition; and MorningStar Mission Ministries (Joliet, Illinois).
Marathon’s Anchorage, Alaska, terminal recently awarded a $10,000 First Responders Grant to the Anchorage Fire Department (AFD), “reinforcing a longstanding partnership rooted in a shared commitment to community safety,” the company said.
Marathon said the grant enables AFD to acquire cutting-edge air monitoring equipment that enhances their ability to respond safely and effectively to hazardous incidents.
