ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Sheetz is celebrating Truck Driver Appreciation week, September 11-17, by offering a discount on diesel from now through September 30, reports FOX 43. The discounted price will be $4.49 and will be available at all Sheetz locations that sell the fuel. The national average cost for a gallon of diesel is $5.06, according to AAA.
"Truck drivers are the backbone of this country,” Travis Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz, told FOX 43. “As a company, we are committed to showing appreciation for our customers. We wanted to go above and beyond for Truck Driver Appreciation Week by providing extended offers that will be unquestionably beneficial to them.”
Truck drivers will also receive a free meal at Sheetz, which includes a half sub, bag of fries and any size self-serve coffee or fountain soda. The free meal promo will be offered beginning September 11 and will run through the end of the month.
Meanwhile, TravelCenters of America will honor professional drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week with discounts, prize opportunities and giveaways.
As TA marks its 50th anniversary, this year’s celebration will include 50th-themed promotions and prizes. Activities include daily instant-win games for prizes including merchandise and coupons for use in the restaurants, stores and TA Truck Service. TA will also hold activities at individual sites throughout the week which will include games, complimentary windshield washing and other initiatives to show appreciation for drivers.
Additionally, TA will host the Truckers Against Trafficking Freedom Drivers Project with Bridgestone Tires at TA Knoxville, Tennessee, on September 13, and an event with Arkansas Trucking Association at Petro North Little Rock, Arkansas on September 15.
