Today is 24/7 Day, the NACS Foundation’s annual event that unites convenience stores across America to recognize first responders, medical personnel and American Red Cross volunteers who work around the clock—24/7—to serve their communities.

The annual event helps raise awareness and donations for the urgent humanitarian needs of the American Red Cross and spotlights our industry’s important role in supporting local heroes and the communities we serve.

Along with 30,000 stores, EG America store brands (which include Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, Turkey Hill, Certified Oil, Loaf N' Jug, Kwik Shop, Quik Stop, Tom Thumb, Sprint and Minit Mart) will give a free coffee (hot or iced), fountain or frozen beverage, any size, to on-duty police, fire, EMT, military personnel, department of corrections officers and nurses in uniform.

Rutter’s will give a free coffee, fountain drink or slushy of any size to any first responder in uniform or with a badge—including police, fire, EMTs, healthcare providers, active military and veterans. The retailer will also feature the Red Cross on its charity cannisters throughout July to help raise money for disaster relief.

“All of us at Rutter’s want to thank first responders for consistently going above and beyond to keep our communities safe,” said Philip Santini, senior director of advertising and foodservice.

Twice Daily and Sudden Service will offer a free medium fountain drink or coffee to all first responders who are in uniform or show their badge.

A handful of other retailers among the 30,000 participating stores offering a free fountain drink or coffee to first responders include Fav Trip, Fasmart, Village Pantry, Hutch’s, Big 10 Mart, TXB, RaceTrac, Enmarket, Sheetz and more.
