Also, Enmarket continues the Feed a Trucker Campaign in partnership with Veteran Carriers.

October 20, 2022

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. and SAVANNAH, Ga.—MAPCO celebrated the grand opening of its newest store in Birmingham, Alabama, and as part of the opening ceremonies and in support of MAPCO’s ongoing commitment to the communities it serves, MAPCO unveiled on-site "Fueling Our Future" dedicated gas pumps benefiting George Carver High School students.

The pumps will be open for 30 days following the opening celebration, with MAPCO donating 25 cents for every gallon pumped to the Rams’ athletic programs to support local youth recreation.

“At MAPCO, we are always looking for new ways to give back to the communities where we live and serve,” said Frederic Chaveyriat, chief executive officer at MAPCO. “We are honored to celebrate this new store by giving back to local youth recreation. We invite the Birmingham community to come out, enjoy MAPCO’s unparalleled customer service and quality products, and help us ‘Fuel Our Future’ through the donation pumps.”

The new 5,600 square-foot store will have 16 fueling stations and boasts MAPCO’s latest “Store of the Future” award-winning design, featuring an open floor plan and refreshed layout with large windows, tall ceilings and clean, modern restrooms. This location will have 25 parking spaces for trucks, as well as a dog park.

Customers can enjoy an in-store Subway offer and an expanded selection of snacks and refreshments; including a variety of hot foods, cold grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, fresh pastries, nine flavors of ICEE frozen carbonated beverages, Fresh Blends smoothies, Johnsonville hot dogs and delicious freshly ground coffee by the cup from four bean-to-cup coffee brewers.

At all MAPCO stores, customers can take advantage of MAPCO’s celebrated MY Reward$ loyalty program. New members can enjoy 20 cents off per gallon on their first fill up of gas.

Meanwhile, Enmarket is once again partnering Veteran Carriers on a Feed a Trucker campaign. Truckers will be treated to free lunches Monday, October 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Truckers can receive their meal by pulling into the Enmarket on Pine Barren Road and Highway 80 in Pooler, Georgia. This is one of the convenience store chain’s commercial trucking locations ideally suited for big rigs serving the Georgia Ports Authority.

In 2022, Enmarket has served over 250 free Enmarket lunches to truckers so far. The Feed a Trucker campaign started in 2021 and served 425 free lunches last year to truckers. Free lunches are served bimonthly to truckers.

The Feed a Trucker project was initiated by Veteran Carriers to recognize the role that truckers played in keeping things going during the pandemic. During the most uncertain times at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, truckers kept gas in the pumps, food on the shelves and medicines in the pharmacies that serve the general public, and Veteran Carriers wanted to salute all truckers for their work under those conditions. They partnered with Enmarket as a source of fresh, varied and convenient meals for truckers. Each month, they team up with a different group of volunteers to hand out the meals at a designated Enmarket.
