The Citgo brand is extending to five new geographic markets with the launch of a brand licensing program for qualified marketers and retailers, according to a press release. “Initially targeting Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah, Citgo is also evaluating additional states for launch this year,” the company said.
“The licensing program is designed to drive business growth for licensees outside our current territories,” said Greg Caponegro, general manager light oil sales. “By offering our brand and marketing support to retailers who source their own fuel, we can expand our presence and provide more consumers with the quality and service they expect from Citgo.”
Citgo said the brand licensing program capitalizes on newly reformed TriCLEAN, “Citgo's most advanced additive system with Top Tier designation and 50% more cleaning agents, while enabling participants to outsource their supply of gasoline.”
Additionally, “participating licensees can utilize the high-quality Illuminate Brand Image, the Club Citgo Loyalty Program, Citgo credit/payment cards, comprehensive marketing support and unwavering customer service.”
In July 2024, Citgo launched a pilot program on its Club Citgo app, which tested customer-facing enhancements and technology upgrades.
According to the company, the primary purpose of the pilot was to test different types of rewards to understand which are most well-received and better serve Citgo customers.
“We want every trip to a Citgo station to be seamless, customized and rewarding,” Joey Low, manager of loyalty and marketing programs at Citgo said at the time. “Enhancing customer engagement and customer loyalty are top priorities for us this year.”
