Indiana-based Family Express opened its first modularized store in Ligonier, Indiana.
Family Express said this is the first of four stores scheduled to open before the end of the year as part of the company’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. At the grand opening, customers received fresh carnations from team members, a free car wash and food from the company’s Cravin’s-To-Order kitchen.
“We are in the business of building relationships with communities, co-workers and the public. When we open our doors in a community that is not familiar with our legacy of customer service, we give them a sample of our overall engagement as to underline our assertion that we are not a gas station,” said Gus Olympidis, president and chief executive officer of Family Express Corp.
Love’s Travel Stops recently opened a new location in Brighton, Colorado. “Located at 672 Riverfront Dr. off Highway 85, the Brighton travel stop provides amenities for professional drivers, RVers and four-wheel customers traveling on Highway 85. The Brighton location, just northeast of Denver, provides a stop between Love’s existing Berthoud and Hudson locations and the state’s capital,” the retailer said.
The new site spans more than 13,500 square feet and features 89 truck parking spaces, a Love’s Fresh Kitchen, five diesel bays and eight showers.
In honor of the grand opening, Love’s donated $5,000 to the Brighton Police Department and $5,000 to the Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Meanwhile in New York, Stewart’s Shops opened a new location in Oswego, New York. The retailer said the shop features a new beverage bar and a made-to-order sandwich station.
“Located in the college town of 17,000 on the southeastern banks of Lake Ontario, this $3.1 million reconstruction project will allow Stewart’s to better serve the community. Our 4,500-square-foot shop includes more space for fresh fruit and vegetables, plus a wide variety of mac and cheese, soup, sandwiches and, of course, our award-winning milk and ice cream,” Stewart’s said.
