Amazon Fresh introduced exclusive savings on more than 3,000 essential grocery items, unveiled the company’s new private label brand ‘Amazon Saver’ and made changes to the online shopping experience.

"We're always looking to make grocery shopping easier, faster and more affordable for our customers," said Claire Peters, worldwide vice president of Amazon Fresh. "With expanded Prime member savings, the introduction of the new Amazon Saver brand and simplified online shopping, it’s now easier than ever to get your weekly grocery shopping done on a budget with Amazon Fresh—whether you're browsing the aisles or filling your online cart.”

The expansion of its Prime savings program includes discounts on more than 3,000 grocery items for Prime members, including:

  • Up to 50% off eight to 15 grocery favorites that rotate each week, including fresh produce, protein and pantry staples.
  • More than 1,200 rotating Prime-exclusive grocery items and 25% off household favorites from top brands.
  • Over 1,700 products from Amazon’s private-label brands always 10% off—including Aplenty, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Kitchen, 365 by Whole Foods Market, Happy Belly and the company’s newest offering, Amazon Saver.

Amazon Saver is the company’s latest private label brand, which it describes as “its new no-frills brand that will help grocery budgets go further.” Most Amazon Saver items are priced under $5, and Prime members can get an additional 10% off these products.

Amazon has started to roll out this new private label with the launch of several products and it will add more than 100 items to the Amazon Saver line over time.

Online, the retailer said it has simplified its Amazon Fresh storefront to “create a clean, intuitive browsing experience focused on customers’ needs—whether they're looking to quickly restock grocery essentials or leisurely fill their carts with new discoveries.”

Some of the features the company has refined include its repeat items feature, which allows customers to quickly add frequently purchased items to their cart, and its recurring reservations feature, which gives customers the ability to set their preferred day and time windows for weekly grocery pickup and delivery.

Earlier this month, Amazon announced it plans to bring its Just Walk Out check-out technology to 10 additional United States college campuses, bringing the total number of campus stores using the technology worldwide to more than 30.

The new U.S. schools joining Amazon’s Just Walk Out ecosystem are Emory University; University of Maine; Loyola University Maryland – Sellinger School of Business and Management; Endicott University; Lindenwood University; Ursinus College; Texas Christian University; and the University of Virginia. Two other schools have not yet been announced by the company.
