Volta Oil wrapped up its 12th annual Purple Pump-Up Campaign, offering a check of more than $170,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts/New Hampshire chapter. During the summer, Rapid Refill Convenience and Garrett's Family Market stores spanning Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island joined forces with the Alzheimer's Association to increase awareness and raise funds to benefit Alzheimer's care, support and research.

From May 26 to July 17, customers visiting any of the participating locations had the opportunity to contribute toward the Alzheimer’s Association either at the gas pumps or in store. Additionally, on June 20 and 21, in alignment with the Alzheimer's Association's “The Longest Day” fundraising and awareness initiative, a donation of 5 cents from every gallon of gas sold was allocated to support the cause.

“I am extremely proud of our store associates who, year after year, demonstrate that our company helps our neighbors who have been afflicted with this terrible disease,” said Jim Garrett, chairman of Volta Oil.

“Purple Pump Up’s substantial fundraising efforts are essential in advancing our research and enhancing our support for local families confronting this challenging disease,” said Jim Wessler, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “We are grateful for Volta Oil and their customers who have had a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease and their families.”

Since the campaign began, it has raised nearly $1.3 million for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Massachusetts/New Hampshire chapter, making it the largest cause-marketing campaign of its kind in the New England region to benefit the association.

“I am especially grateful to our many customers and our dedicated supplier partners who, again, made our campaign very successful,” Garrett said.
