In a new partnership with grocery chain Hy-Vee, Uber Technologies Inc. will offer on-demand and scheduled grocery delivery to customers across the Midwest.

"Hy-Vee is a beloved hometown brand, and we're thrilled to welcome them onto Uber Eats," said Christian Freese, Uber's head of grocery and new verticals across the United States and Canada.

More than 260 Hy-Vee grocery and liquor locations will be available to shop through Uber and Uber Eats. Customers will be able to order Hy-Vee items, from baked goods to produce, and have them delivered on-demand, right to their doorsteps.

“This launch allows us another avenue to offer our products and best serve the needs of our shoppers," said Aaron Wiese, Hy-Vee's president.

To celebrate the new partnership, Uber Eats has launched a promotion for customers ordering from Hy-Vee locations. Through August 24, customers can receive 50% off (up to $40) on their first order of $50 or more (before taxes and fees). Customers will also have the chance to enter to win tickets to the 2023 NFL Kickoff with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Detroit Lions on September 7.

In another recent announcement, Vroom Delivery, a software company for the convenience retail industry, has also partnered with Uber to expand its network and access to its consumers. Vroom will now allow users to fulfill orders from merchant-owned channels through Uber Eats and Uber Direct, as reported in the NACS Daily.
