The 7-Eleven Cares Foundation, an arm of 7-Eleven Inc., is launching its revamped Project A-Game youth education and development program. The initiative will now be anchored by a new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, “aiming to empower youth across the country through hyperlocal, community-based engagement,” 7-Eleven said in a press release.
As part of the program’s refresh, 7-Eleven will invite its franchise owners to apply for a $1,000 matching grant from the 7-Eleven Cares Foundation to support their local Boys & Girls Club or another eligible youth education organization.
“Collaborating with Boys & Girls Clubs of America strengthens our ability to create a lasting positive impact in the communities where we operate,” said Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president, chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven Inc. “By working alongside one of the country’s most respected organizations, we can help local store operators make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, promoting academic success, community engagement and personal growth.”
Since Project A-Game began, 7-Eleven Inc. has awarded nearly 5,700 grants, totaling close to $4 million. This new relationship with Boys & Girls Clubs of America marks the next step in 7-Eleven’s ongoing efforts to invest in youth education and create more opportunities for young people in local communities.
Additionally, the 7-Eleven Cares Foundation is supporting Los Angeles communities affected by recent wildfires. In an email, 7-Eleven stated that the foundation’s efforts include:
- Providing water and food for community groups and first responders.
- Matching employee and franchisee donations to the American Red Cross California Wildfires Relief Fund up to $100,000.
- Making an annual contribution to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund.
7-Eleven Inc. is also working with local franchisees to support the impacted communities. The company’s local operations team hosted a 7Cares community event on January 16 at a Van Nuys, California, store, donating food and water to first responders and customers. Products from partner brands such as Red Bull, Vita Coco, and Body Armor were included among the donated supplies.
