Sheetz has been named to this year’s "Companies that Care" list by Great Place To Work and PEOPLE Magazine, the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
The annual list highlights the top companies in the U.S. that have succeeded in business while also demonstrating outstanding respect, care and concern for their employees and a deep commitment to their communities. Sheetz ranks 10th on this year’s list, maintaining its top 10 status after ranking 9th last year.
“This marks the fourth consecutive year, and fifth time in six years, that Sheetz has been ranked on this prestigious national list. Notably, Sheetz has been the only convenience store chain to be ranked on this list in each of those years, establishing itself as one of the best companies to work for in the country,” Sheetz said.
The retailer said 90% of employees surveyed at Sheetz said it is a great place to work. Additionally, 92% of Sheetz employees feel good about the ways the company contributes to the community.
“We do not take this recognition lightly as supporting our communities and employees is central to everything we do,” said Travis Sheetz, president & CEO of Sheetz. “We are truly humbled to be standing alongside some of the leading companies in the country that are also committed to making a positive impact in their communities.”
Additionally, the retailer said Sheetz For the Kidz, an employee-driven charity supporting underprivileged children in the communities Sheetz operates in, raised $1,009,466 during its July in-store giving campaign. This is the first time in its history that Sheetz For the Kidz exceeded $1 million during its annual July campaign, the retailer told NACS.
Every year, during the months of July and December, Sheetz customers can donate to Sheetz For the Kidz at checkout, either through donation boxes or by adding a gift to their purchase. These funds support local kids in need with clothes, toys and more through the Sheetz For the Kidz Holiday Program in partnership with The Salvation Army.
In partnership with Make-A-Wish, funds raised during the campaign also sponsor wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The charity sponsors one child per Sheetz operating district, totaling 78 children last year.
Sheetz For the Kidz also partners with Feeding America to provide food to children in need. In 2024, Sheetz For the Kidz’s $782,000 commitment served over 2.4 million meals through backpack programs, kids cafés, school and mobile pantries and summer feeding programs, the retailer said.
