Modisoft, a provider of software solutions and hardware to retailers, broke ground on a new headquarters in the heart of Sugar Land, Texas. The ceremony took place on October 10, and the company is expected to move in by the end of 2024.

“It’s a milestone for us,” Safi Modi, head of growth at Modisoft, told NACS Daily. “We want that building to represent entrepreneurship. We want people to be inspired by the opening night.” Referencing Sohail Modi, the CEO of Modisoft, Safi said, “He owned one gas station, started Modisoft in the back of that gas station and is now building a 40,000-square-foot building.”

The company started in San Antonio and then moved to Sugar Land, where Modisoft went through two offices. The first was around 2,000 square feet. The company moved out within three years, said Safi. The current office, he said, is around 4,000 to 5,000 square feet.

“Our growth resulted in us investing in a building,” said Safi. “The building represents all the innovative products and research and development for current and future Modisoft products.”

Modisoft’s new headquarters will have four floors, said Safi. The first and second floor will be leased out while the third floor will be home to Modisoft. The fourth floor will be an open lounge area, allowing employees and visitors to relax and get a breath of fresh air. The building will include a lab space for Modisoft to test its new products.

Tramonte Design Studio and O’Donnell/Snider Construction played a vital role in the design of this project.
