SAVANNAH, Ga. – Parker’s has donated $20,000 to Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools as part of the company’s Fueling the Community charitable initiative.

“Every time we get funding from Parker’s, it goes right back to help our students,” said Godley Station School Principal John K. King. “This donation provides additional funding for technology that gets our kids ready for 21st-century skills that will help them succeed.”

Parker’s donates a portion of every gallon of gas sold on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. PumpPal club members can select which school will receive the proceeds from their Fueling the Community gas purchase on the first Wednesday. Godley Station School is selected by more PumpPal members than any other school in Chatham County.

"It’s exciting to give back to the community," said President and CEO Greg Parker. "At Parker’s, we believe that education has the power to transform lives and to uplift communities. We are grateful for the Chatham County teachers who are educating the next generation of students and preparing them for future success."

Parker’s originally launched its charitable initiative in 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools in every community where Parker’s does business. The company operates 48 convenience stores in Georgia and South Carolina and completes more than 100,000 transactions daily.
