New York-based Mirabito Energy Products (parent company of Mirabito Convenience Stores) completed its March Mirabito Cares Round Up campaign, raising $60,000 “to support local food banks and help fight hunger in the communities we serve,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
Throughout the month of March, customers at 109 Mirabito Convenience Store locations were invited to round up their purchases at checkout. Proceeds from the campaign benefited three local food banks: the Food Bank of Central New York, the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Each organization received $20,000 each.
The retailer said this targeted approach ensures that the support stays local and strengthens the programs serving its neighbors across the region.
“We are incredibly grateful to our customers and employees who participated in this campaign,” said Marissa Sweeney, director of marketing at Mirabito. “Supporting our neighbors in need is what Mirabito Cares is all about. Together, we are making a real difference in the fight against hunger.”
Last year, Mirabito Convenience Stores launched a roundup campaign in partnership with the UHS Foundation’s Journey Campaign in support of the Wilson Main Tower. The Wilson Main Tower is an endeavor aimed at transforming healthcare in the Southern Tier with the addition of a new emergency and trauma center, helipad, inpatient MRI suite and 120 single-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms at UHS Wilson Medical Center.
