The Latest in Candy: Suppliers Release New Flavors

Kit Kat and Nerds offer giveaways to celebrate new product launches.

The Hershey Company released a new Kit Kat flavor, Kit Kat vanilla, that will remain a permanent part of its lineup. The brand “listened to the pleas of vanilla fans everywhere and decided to give the people what they want this fall,” the company said. The flavor features Kit Kat’s crisp wafers covered in vanilla flavored crème.

To celebrate the release, Kit Kat is running a giveaway on Instagram where four winners will receive Kit Kat-branded BÉIS Carry-on luggage item filled with Kit Kat vanilla bars, and one grand prize winner will receive an additional $1,000 vacation rental marketplace gift card toward travel expenses to spend on a getaway this fall.

"As the brand known for giving fans a break, we're thrilled to deliver another exciting addition to the Kit Kat lineup with the release of Kit Kat vanilla for fans hungry for new flavors," said Lindsay Morrow, senior associate brand manager, Kit Kat. "With the Kit Kat vanilla break giveaway, fans get the best of both worlds—the vanilla flavor they love in a familiar treat and a moment of relaxation amidst the chaos that the fall season can bring."

Mars announced its latest M&M treat: M&M's peanut butter and jelly. The first new flavor innovation since 2022, “the delicious addition features berry flavored bite-sized chocolate treats with a deliciously smooth peanut butter center that will transport fans to the comforting experience of a PB&J sandwich,” Mars said.

"Peanut butter M&M's have always been a popular flavor with our fans, so we're excited to double down on their excitement—with a twist," said Gabrielle Wesley, chief marketing officer, Mars Wrigley North America. "Our new M&M's peanut butter and jelly taps into a cross-generational staple, turning a delicious and comforting snack into a bite-sized treat to be enjoyed and shared."

Beginning December 2024, M&M's peanut butter and jelly will be available at retailers nationwide and online in three sizes: single size (1.63 oz.), share size (2.83 oz.) and sharing size stand-up pouches (8.6 oz).

Nerds Candy is ready for football season after debuting two limited-time Gummy Clusters flavors: grape strawberry blitz and berry punch rush. The latest offerings “will encourage fans to ‘unleash their senses’, taking them on a joyful, flavor-filled, multi-sensorial experience—delivering an exciting combination of crunchy and gummy in every bite.”

“We have seen social media conversations asking if there will be new flavors, from everyday consumers to professional athletes, influencers and more. We answered the call and couldn't be more excited to bring to life these new limited-time flavors,” said Joey Rath, Nerds brand director, Ferrara.

Nerds is also hosting a giveaway to celebrate its launch. The Make the Rivalry Sweeter sweepstakes gives football fans the chance to host an “epic tailgate party” with a grand prize that includes:
