More QSRs Unveil Value Meals for Budget-Oriented Customers

Jimmy John’s, Hardee’s and more roll out new offers.

Earlier this summer, McDonald’s debuted a limited-time $5 Meal Deal. Placer.ai found that the day the deal was launched, the QSR saw an 8% increase in foot traffic compared to the year-to-date Tuesday average. Limited-time deals such as this one come as restaurants feel pushback from consumers about the rising cost of menu items. Recently more QSRs announced value releases.

Jimmy John’s has created a new limited-time $10 Total Package Deal, which includes an eight-inch sandwich, a bag of chips, a cookie or brownie, and a fountain drink.

“At Jimmy John’s, we understand the importance of value and want to ensure our guests can enjoy everything they love about Jimmy John’s at an affordable price,” said Jeff Cobb, Jimmy John’s vice president of brand experience.

Hardee’s is also hopping on the value meal train with its $5.99 Hardee's Original Bag. Consumers can mix and match any two full-size entrees. The offer includes a small fry and drink.

Sarah Breymaier, Hardee's vice president of marketing, said, "The new Hardee's Original Bag is the perfect nod to our history and to the loyal guests who've been with us for generations."

White Castle has also started a value campaign. At the end of July, the burger chain began offering a pack of 10 sliders for $7.99, which it said is more than 30% off the regular price. The company said that is “just less than 80¢ for each Cheese Slider—a price not seen since 2011.”
