Sheetz has tapped global music community Sofar for a new partnership and will be hosting a concert in Pittsburgh this weekend as part of its ongoing ‘Sheetzertainment’ series, the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.

On Saturday, August 23, Sofar will transform a unique Pittsburgh venue, with the location kept secret until the day of the concert, into a curated music space for the live event featuring emerging local artists, presented by Sheetz, it said.

The Sheetz collaboration reportedly marks Sofar’s launch in the Pittsburgh market, where it will continue to bring live music experiences to unconventional spaces throughout the city.

This concert is the latest in Sheetz’s live entertainment series, Sheetzertainment, which will deliver a full lineup of shows, activations and collaborations throughout Sheetz’s seven-state footprint. The Sheetzertainment series kicked off on August 8 with a surprise All-American Rejects concert outside a Pittsburgh-area Sheetz.

The one-night-only performance was part of the band’s House Party Tour, known for popping up in unexpected places across the country. Sheetz will continue its partnership with The All-American Rejects as they tour around the country with the Jonas Brothers on the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour.

Sheetz said Sheetzertainment will continue to “delight customers with memorable moments in the months ahead, offering unique and unexpected live experiences in locations around the country.”

The retailer also recently held a popup involving chainsaw-sliced sandwiches, which allowed customers to order a Sheetz Made-to-Order sandwich and then have it sliced with a real chainsaw.
