In 2023, professional football player Ja’Marr Chase tweeted that he’s “always open,” just like 7-Eleven. Following the declaration, the convenience retailer partnered with Chase for a company campaign.

7-Eleven and Chase released the Always Open x Ja’Marr Chase collection, which includes a T-shirt with Chase’s tweet, a graphic T-shirt with a 7-Eleven store and the phrase “Always Open” beneath it and a shirt that said, “Oh Thank Heaven, It’s Game Day.” Additionally, the collection featured a hat and the 7-Eleven pendant that Chase wore during a game.

When Chase said he wanted a Slurpee, 7-Eleven sent him an entire truck. In March, Chase put that truck to use, taking it to his former elementary school in Gretna, Louisiana.

“’Always Open’ is a phrase that reminds me that no matter what, on or off the field, you have to always be open, in your mind [and] in your attitude, to receive the positive things life has to offer,” said Chase. “Being back at my elementary school, drinking Slurpees, brings back so many memories. I am grateful to share my experiences with these kids, and hopefully inspire them to keep a steady head, stay focused and just keep going. That’s what I’m all about—being always open, like 7-Eleven.”

Recently, 7-Eleven won two Clio awards for its “Always Open” campaign, including gold in the real time response category and bronze for its use of talent and influencers, according to a LinkedIn post from Marissa Jarratt, chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven.
