To celebrate Jacksons Food Stores 50th anniversary this week, the company is “offering its customers something to celebrate with once-in-a-half-century deals every day of this coming week,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
For 50 cents, Jacksons said customers who use their Let’s Go Rewards membership number will be able to get products like select brands of 20-ounce soda, Red Bull, Starbursts, Slim Jims, Welches fruit snacks and more.
“On August 4, 1975, a young college student named John Jackson, at age 20, took the reins leasing his first service station, a Texaco in Caldwell, Idaho. After the first purchase, he bought another. Then a few more. And a few more. As Jacksons Food Stores celebrates its 50th Anniversary, John Jackson has yet to stop expanding. There are now more than 1,400 Jacksons and ExtraMile convenience stores across ten states,” the retailer said.
“I have said I thought I had the Midas touch after the success of my first service station. The second one cured me of that notion. I understand that the associates we have the privilege of working with every day, providing friendly service to our customers in clean stores, are what gives Jacksons its staying power,” said John Jackson, founder and CEO. “All of us working together as a positive force in our communities, and in our customers’ lives, is the secret sauce to making it to 50 years and will remain the underpinning in getting us through the next 50.”
“Every day for the last 50 years Jacksons has provided service and products to our valuable customers. Our first thought in celebrating the birthday of our family business was to share our gratitude with customers, giving them meaningful deals to mark the occasion and say thank you for taking this journey with us,” said Cory Jackson, Jackson Food Stores president.
In other recent Jacksons news, in April the retailer tapped OnPoint EV Solutions to help install Level 3 Fast Charging Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations at nine of its stores this summer, with “more sites to follow in late 2025 and into 2026.”
OnPoint’s charging stations will include a solar canopy, high speed internet services, security cameras and digital kiosks integrated with OnPoint’s Mobile App.
