The Wawa Foundation has opened up its $200,000 fund for applications from non-profit organizations. The money aims to support patients and families during breast cancer treatment as well as organizations making advancements in prevention, treatment and research.

“The Wawa Foundation launched the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund in 2021 and proudly awarded grants to 38 eligible organizations across our operating areas,” said Jay Culotta, president of The Wawa Foundation. “Our associates remain passionate about helping those in the community impacted by breast cancer and we’re thrilled to earmark dollars again to support non-profits providing support to this important cause.”

According to a company press release, “The Wawa Foundation identifies ‘key issues’ in need of focus and funding, while remaining open to other general requests. The key issues vary from time-to-time, including its Covid Emergency Food Distribution Fund. Key issue grants have start/end dates, and generally range from $1,000 to $10,000, with some larger grants available.”

The Wawa Foundation is launching applications for the breast cancer awareness fund now as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Casey’s has also opened up applications for its classroom grant program. Grant requests may range from $3,000 to $50,000 and can be used for a variety of projects and initiatives focused on physical improvements, material needs, teacher support and community engagement initiatives.
