Thai and Tacos: Uber Offers Multi-Store Ordering

Customers can now order from two stores in one session through Uber Eats.

Uber announced that customers can now order from multiple stores in the same session without an additional delivery fee through the new multi-store ordering feature. This includes ordering from a second nearby restaurant, convenience or liquor store.

According to a company press release, the feature builds on earlier testing for ways to add items to an order. Now, Uber said, “Whether you’re looking to add gelato to your pizza order or you want Thai but your spouse wants tacos, now you can build that cart you want from multiple Uber Eats merchants you love and have all of your items delivered together.”

The feature works by having a customer select items from a store’s menu and adding them to their cart. After they’re done with the one store, they can select the “bundle another store” button at the bottom of the menu. Then, the customer can add items from a second store and heads to checkout.

Last month, Uber unveiled new features headed to the app either later this year or in 2024. This includes the ability for SNAP recipients to use their benefits to access fresh groceries from the app. Additionally, the company has been working with managed Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans to accept FSA cards, flex cards and relevant waiver payments on Uber.
