JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—The GATE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Jacksonville-based GATE Petroleum Company, and GATE customers raised $35,000 for the American Red Cross. Funds were raised in GATE convenience stores in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina through the company’s semi-annual paper icon campaign. From April 1-21, customers could donate $1 and sign their named on a paper icon displayed in the GATE store. Funds were allocated to the respective Red Cross organizations in the communities where collected.

“It was an honor to help support the American Red Cross,” said Kathy Brady, executive director of the GATE Foundation. “We are grateful to our customers, whose generosity made this possible.”

In addition to corporate giving, the GATE Foundation conducts two paper icon and two coin box collection campaigns each year to benefit organizations that align with its mission to support efforts and services that nurture and protect the well-being of family and community.

“We are so grateful for the support of GATE’s customers and the dedicated staff that serve them every day,” said Christian Smith, CEO, American Red Cross North Florida Region. “The donations collected for the Red Cross are so important to the work we do in saving lives and ensuring families have access to critical disaster relief services.”
