ALEXANDRIA, Va.—C-store operators are facing many challenges. The pandemic, e-commerce growth and the war in Ukraine have caused broad disruptions across the supply chain. Price inflation has been a key impact for c-stores and suppliers, and out-of-stocks represent a major challenge as well, with an impact on sales, satisfaction and loyalty.

To address these challenges, NACS worked with Coresight Research on a survey of large fast-moving consumer goods retailers and suppliers. Key findings of the survey include:

  • 41% of suppliers and retailers reported that out-of-stocks/low on-self availability is a challenge and a major driver of customer dissatisfaction and lost sales.
  • 46% say lack of centralized data collaboration platform is a limitation.
  • 51% of suppliers plan to buy data from retailers to improve supply chain management.

NACS will host a free webinar on how c-stores and suppliers use joint planning and data sharing to address out-of-stocks, improve supply chains and gain competitive advantage.

The webinar, “How Data Sharing Addresses C-Store Out-of-Stocks and Supply Chain Issues,” takes places Tuesday, September 13 at 2 p.m. EDT.
