DoorDash now offers “hemp-derived THC and CBD products for on-demand delivery in select states, giving customers of legal age more products to enjoy,” DoorDash said in a press release.
“With the growing demand for hemp-derived THC and CBD products, we’re excited to expand access to a wide selection of products consumers crave,” said Jacob Morello, director, GM of alcohol and emerging categories at DoorDash. “As preferences evolve, DoorDash can now help eligible customers find new products to safely enjoy while they unwind and recharge in the new year.”
The press release stated that in markets where hemp-derived products are available, customers will see the CBD/THC tab in the DoorDash app. Similar to alcohol sales, DoorDash said there are multiple safeguards to help ensure customers are of legal age, including electronic ID verification.
“This expansion comes as a growing number of people seek new products to enjoy while they relax and decompress. According to a Harris Poll survey of U.S. adults aged 21-65, nearly 75% of those looking to de-stress in 2025 are considering incorporating THC/CBD products into their routine,” said DoorDash.
In other recent DoorDash updates, the delivery platform announced a new suite of products meant to help merchants manage and grow their businesses on their own channels in October.
Prabir Adarkar, president and chief operating officer of DoorDash, said, “… [I]t’s more important than ever for merchants to find innovative ways to grow their sales and increase profitability. The DoorDash Commerce Platform is designed to meet this need by offering a comprehensive set of tools that allow merchants to create direct channels—whether through online, phone or in-store ordering—and build lasting, direct relationships with their customers.”
