Coen Markets has joined Pitt Athletics and Pitt Sports Marketing as the inaugural partner for the Hail to Pittsburgh Partner Platform, which will spotlight and celebrate Pittsburgh-based businesses, according to a press release.

“The Hail to Pittsburgh program celebrates businesses rooted in the Pittsburgh Metro Area, providing them with high-profile recognition across Pitt Athletics platforms. Participating partners will be featured in video board highlights and LED signage at Acrisure Stadium and Petersen Events Center, and recognized in game-day programs, radio spots and a dedicated digital and social media campaign,” said the University in a press release.

Coen Markets, the first company to be featured, is the Pittsburgh region's oldest and largest convenience store chain, said the university. Founded in 1923, the company now operates nearly 60 locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

"We're thrilled to be welcomed as the first local business in the Hail to Pittsburgh program. It's important to us not only to highlight our local roots, but to also support Pitt and Pitt Athletics as another true community leader," said Andrea Neurohr, Coen Markets vice president, marketing. "Our company is still family owned and operated, and we live and work in the same community as our fellow Pitt fans."

Lee Roberts, Pitt executive associate AD, said: "Pitt Athletics is excited to strengthen its relationships with the members of the Pittsburgh Business Community through this Hail to Pittsburgh Partner Program. Through their support, Coen Markets will be highlighted as our inaugural partner in the program, and we are excited to showcase them and their rich history of being based in this region."

Last month, Coen Markets announced its partnership with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Coen Markets will “lend its name and support to some of the Riverhounds’ community initiatives and be a presence during Hounds matches, both at Highmark Stadium and away from home,” the retailer said.
