Little General Stores Inc. recently presented $75,000 to WVU Medicine Children’s to help support the hospital’s efforts in caring for patients and their families. To raise the funds, Little General stores and restaurants throughout West Virginia sold football icons for one dollar during a three-week campaign.
To date, Little General Stores has donated $350,000 through the Kick Off for Kids Campaign.
“Supporting our communities has always been a top priority for Little General Stores,” said Greg Darby, president and CEO of Little General Stores Inc. “By raising funds for WVU Medicine Children’s, we know this donation will go towards providing care and comfort to patients and their families. We are so grateful for the team at WVU Medicine Children’s and for everything they do.”
The donated money will be used as a part of the hospital’s “greatest needs” funds and allocated to support families in need.
Yesway pledged to support the Roswell, New Mexico, community after recent devastating floods in the area. The floods caused extensive damage to homes, businesses and other property in Roswell, the town where the Allsup’s brand began and where five local Allsup’s stores are located.
The retailer committed to donating $100,000 to the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM) and is inviting its customers and supplier partners to join the effort and donate as well.
The Wills Group recently partnered with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, an organization that works to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay. The company donated $50,000 to the support the Alliance’s Project Clean Stream, which mobilizes thousands of volunteers to clean rivers, streams and shorelines across the watershed.
According to the Wills Group, the partnership aligns with its sustainability goals at Splash In, the company’s car wash brand, where it “prioritizes water conservation and eco-friendly practices.”
Maverik and Kum & Go launched their fourth annual “Round Up Your Change” campaign in support of Feeding America. Through December 4, customers are invited to round up their in-store cash and credit transactions to the nearest dollar—or contribute even more. Donations will support the movement to end hunger in the local communities where Maverik and K&G operate, spanning the Midwest to the West Coast.
Ninety percent of funds raised will stay local to the community where the donation was made, with the remaining funds supporting the activities of the Feeding America national organization.
Maverik’s CEO and Chief Adventure Guide, Crystal Maggelet, kicked off this year’s giving by presenting Feeding America with a $1 million donation check during an event celebrating Maverik’s significant expansion milestones.
EG America partnered with Westborough Connects for its 2024 Annual Appeal during November. For every dollar raised during the campaign up to $10,000, EG America will donate $1 to the organization.
