Starbucks announced that starting today, locations nationwide will offer Oleato beverages—drinks and foam infused with extra virgin olive oil.

Oleato beverages are now available at all U.S. Starbucks company-operated and licensed stores, such as those in grocery stores, airports, and college campuses. Starbucks Reserve locations in the United States also serve a “unique lineup of Oleato beverages and offer an exclusive tasting experience,” the company said.

The beverages debuted in Italy in February 2023 after former CEO Howard Schultz visited the country and noticed locals drinking olive oil daily, reported CNBC.

Starbucks unveiled what it called “a transformational innovation in coffee, Oleato—a line of coffee beverages that brings together the unexpected—Starbucks arabica coffee deliciously infused with a spoonful of Partanna cold-pressed, extra virgin olive oil,” reported NACS Daily.

The line of drinks includes an oat milk latte and a toffeenut iced shaken espresso, also made with oat milk, and each includes a spoonful of olive oil. Starbucks also has an olive-oil infused cold foam, called golden foam, made with a double serving of olive oil.

When Oleato coffee reviews hit the internet, reactions were mixed. Journalists shared their Oleato coffee reviews. One reviewer said: “At first, it seemed a little overpowering, as the peppery notes from the olive oil kind of masked the espresso. But after a few sips, it became more appealing.”

Initially, the olive-oil-infused drinks were only available in California, Illinois, New York, and Washington.

Oleato is also available in locations around the world, including Canada, London, Paris, Osaka, and Tokyo.
