General Mills Launches C-Store Sweepstakes

Free digital assets and display support are available to help c-store retailers promote the sweepstakes.

MINNEAPOLIS—General Mills Convenience and Nature Valley have announced the Nature Valley Summer Sweepstakes in partnership with the National Park Foundation. From May 15 through August 13, convenience store consumers can enter for a chance to win one of 130 annual national park passes, with 10 passes awarded each week.

The summer sweepstakes coincide with the launch of two new Nature Valley snacks: Nature Valley Dark Chocolate, Peanut & Almond Bars and Nature Valley Soft Baked Muffin Bars in blueberry and chocolate chip.

According to General Mills, Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Bars are a top seller for c-stores. The new muffin bars meet growing interest—muffins are now the second most consumed food at breakfast—as well as the needs of shoppers looking for a simple and healthy snack on the go. 

“Summer is the perfect season to enjoy the beauty of our amazing national parks and the delicious flavors of Nature Valley, which has been fueling adventures and celebrating the natural world for 50 years,” said George DeGrella, vice president of sales at General Mills Convenience. “In addition to some great new flavors and bars, we are thrilled to support retailers as they encourage their customers to explore the great outdoors.”

The free digital assets and display support include wobblers and stickers available to c-store retailers as well as social media posts for promoting the sweepstakes, encouraging the sales of snack bars and giving customers the chance to win a free park pass. Nature Valley national and social media will also invite consumers to visit their local convenience store to enter for a chance to win.

While no purchase is necessary, consumers are encouraged to purchase a Nature Valley product to obtain a product code located on the back panel of the packaging.
