ATLANTA—The Atlanta Hawks basketball team announced a multi-year community-focused partnership with QuikTrip. The collaboration between the NBA team and the c-store is a first for the retailer.
As a major component of the relationship, QT will be the naming-rights sponsor for the upcoming Community Court Tour, set to kickoff on Tuesday June 13. “Throughout the seven-week tour, more than 1,000 metro Atlanta youth will be surprised with pop-up basketball and fitness activities featuring Hawks alumni and players at already-existing day camps throughout Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett County,” explained the Hawks’ press release.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Atlanta Hawks. Our organizations share a commitment to providing a first-class experience to our fans and making a positive impact on our community,” said QuikTrip’s Corporate Communications Manager Aisha Jefferson. “We look forward to cheering on the Hawks for another exciting season and helping Hawks fans stay fueled up with rewards from our new QT Tipoff.”
During the 2023-24 season, the partnership will include several activations, like the QT Tipoff, which enables fans in attendance at games during which the Hawks win the tipoff to claim select in-app rewards around the city. The collaboration will also include a one-game entitlement and branding opportunities during home games at the State Farm Arena.
The partnership is fitting for both organizations because both are fixtures in their communities. QuikTrip has contributed $2.7 million to metro Atlanta nonprofits focused on empowering neighborhoods, helping families and keeping streets safe for youth to foster healthy and active lifestyles.
