Every c-store owner at some point has been concerned about losing sales to e-commerce. Sohail Modi, an independent c-store owner and the founder of Modisoft, a software solutions company, worried about how he was going to maintain his profitability during the height of the pandemic when fewer people were visiting his convenience store. So, he decided to create Cartzie, a powerful solution that gives convenience retailers the ability to offer their customers a loyalty program, tailored promotions and online ordering—all through a custom app.

“We create white-label apps, no matter the size of client, which allow you to create unique looks across multiple locations and to manage all the rewards offered within the app,” said Modi.

“A robust loyalty program is no longer a differentiator in the c-store industry. It’s a must-have to stay competitive and decrease those sales lost to e-commerce,” he added.

Cartzie is not only a loyalty program solution, it’s a powerful promotions platform as well, said Modi. It allows c-stores to produce digital marketing campaigns, coupons and punch cards, and they can also create and customize their own promotions. Campaigns can be targeted based on customer activity.

“You can launch a promotion that targets customers who have not come back in two weeks, four weeks, a month, two months, a whole year. We even have the capability to reach out to people who visited your location two years ago,” said Modi.

When customers want to use their promotions, they don’t have to scroll through a c-store’s app to find their punch card—all they have to do is input their phone number into the payment terminal.

“Let's say you have a loyalty promotion running that’s buy one packaged beverage, get one 20% off, and your customer’s basket has two packaged beverages. All they have to do is put in their phone number, and it will apply that discount automatically,” he said.

Additionally, with the growing number of foodservice programs at convenience stores, online ordering is a major component of a successful food offering, says Modi.

“Many of today’s convenience stores have some facet of foodservice in order to stay competitive as well as to meet the consumer demand for fast, quality meals and snacks. Coupled with a good foodservice offering is a reliable and easy-to-manage food ordering system, and Cartzie is this solution,” he said.

Cartzie even comes with a customizable app for c-stores, which Modisoft creates. “We manage everything,” said Modi. “Just give us your logo and branding, and we'll create it for you.”

According to Modi, Modisoft’s highest priority is to help independent businesses flourish by providing software solutions to run a successful business as well as to grow and expand to multiple locations. Modisoft’s Cartzie feature is no exception, and clients can manage their loyalty programs, promotions and online ordering for multiple locations (even locations that are not convenience stores) on one screen.

“It was built with all the necessary insights to deliver the exact tools our clients need right now,” said Modi. “We are always evolving with the market to help our clients stay ahead of the game and compete with confidence.”
