North Carolina-based Quality Mart added burritos to its foodservice offer, according to a press release from Tres Picosos Burritos. The Tres Picosos foil-wrapped burritos are available at Quality Mart’s hot foodservice stores, including its recently remodeled store on Piney Grove Road in Kernersville, North Carolina.

“It's a win-win,” said retailer Patrick McAnnally, director of food services at Quality Oil Company. “Operationally, it's a slam dunk for our team to sell because they understand how to operate foil-wrapped burritos, and financially, the sell-through is phenomenal because it's what our customers want—authentic burritos.”

The Tres Picosos lineup is available every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes bacon breakfast, sausage breakfast and western breakfast burritos, and pork carnitas, fajita chicken and taco beef burritos.

According to Grubhub’s “2024 Delivered Report,” Mexican food was the most popular “international” cuisine among U.S. Grubhub customers last year. The top-selling Hispanic item for delivery (1.3 million orders) was birria, a slow-cooked Mexican stew traditionally made with goat, beef or lamb. DoorDash reports that its most popular delivery item is anything fried, followed by chicken quesadillas.

“We’re seeing some of the bigger convenience players dedicating part of their menu to what would be considered traditional Mexican food,” said Jeff Keune, who worked in restaurants and convenience retail before launching 4910 Consulting, based in Boston.
