EG America recently raised $580,553 for DAV (Disabled American Veterans) through its annual in-store fundraising campaign held in November. DAV is a nonprofit dedicated to serving veterans, their families and caregivers.
The month-long initiative invited customers across EG America’s network of convenience stores including Certified Oil, Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf ’N Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Sprint Food Stores, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill, to contribute $1, $5 or an amount of their choosing at checkout.
“Funds raised through the campaign will help DAV continue providing a lifetime of no-cost services to veterans of all generations. Each year, DAV supports more than one million veterans by helping them access the health care and benefits they’ve earned, connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities and ensuring their voices are represented on Capitol Hill,” EG America said.
To celebrate the campaign, members of EG America’s leadership team invited Coleman Nee, DAV’s National Commander, to attend a special check presentation at the company’s headquarters in Westborough, Massachusetts.
“We are proud to support DAV and the critical work they do on behalf of veterans and their families,” said Russ Colaco, CEO of EG Group. “This fundraiser is made possible by the generosity of our guests and the dedication of our team members across the country, and we’re grateful to play a role in helping DAV continue its impact year after year.”
In other recent EG America news, in November the retailer partnered with Swiftly, a provider of retail technology and retail media solutions, to integrate Swiftly’s Alcohol Cashback program into EG America’s Smart Rewards app.
The companies said the new program gives customers a near-instant, supplier-funded cash back on beer, wine and spirits purchased at stores under the EG America banner.
