The Wills Group offered its employees a chance to give back to their local communities with a full calendar of volunteer events this fall.
During one event, held late last month, employees attended the Maryland Food Bank at its Pack to Give Back event, where 400 total volunteers packed 10,000 boxes of food. The event brought together companies and community groups across the state to pack holiday meals for families in need.
To close out the fall volunteer events, Dash In volunteers held a day of service at Piscataway Park in Maryland, located along the Potomac River. “Working alongside park staff, our teams removed invasive plants and restored the landscape's natural beauty,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Meanwhile, Tiger Fuel Company announced that with the help of its customers, it raised $10,000 for JackFest in October. JackFest is an event that supports families battling pediatric cancer and benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville, Virginia.
“We're so proud to have supported this meaningful organization across all ten of our Market by Tiger locations. Thank you to all that played a role in this amazing initiative,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Murphy USA supported local students through the Union County Backpack Food Drive. “Thanks to the generosity of our Murphy USA team, countless canned goods and pantry staples were donated to help ensure local kids have meals beyond the classroom. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact right here at home,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Royal Farms announced that it has joined Dick’s Sporting Goods in partnering with Mercy Medical Center's Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction (IFAR). The organization is hosting a community outreach event on November 25, where it will provide free professional foot care and distribute new shoes and socks to residents in need, Royal Farms said in a press release.
Royal Farms contributed $5,000 in funding to directly support the footwear purchase, while Dick’s Sporting Goods, in partnership with Brooks Running, is donating up to 100 pairs of Brooks Ghost and Brooks Adrenaline shoes.
“As a long-standing neighbor in the Baltimore area, Royal Farms believes strongly in supporting essential community initiatives.
