Parker’s Kitchen is partnering with Wounded Warrior Project to support local injured veterans in Georgia and South Carolina through a new round-up campaign, which will run from March 1 through July 6 at all Parker’s Kitchen locations. According to a press release, the company will match 25% of every customer donation.
“We invite Parker’s Kitchen customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar to benefit Wounded Warrior Project and to help local veterans and their families access the services they need, free of charge,” said Parker’s Kitchen founder and CEO Greg Parker. “We are committed to making a transformative impact and supporting heroes across our corporate footprint. We’re incredibly honored to partner with Wounded Warrior Project to help local injured veterans and their families.”
The campaign “supports WWP’s Warriors to Work program, which helps warriors and their family members transition to the civilian workforce and find meaningful careers. Program participants learn the skills to thrive in the workplace, grow their careers and increase their financial security. Services include career counseling and assessments, resume writing assistance, interview preparation and certification assistance.”
Parker’s Kitchen also recently donated $20,000 to Bryan County Schools on behalf of its Fueling the Community program, the company posted on LinkedIn. “Our Fueling the Community program is funded in part by our One Cent Wednesday initiative where we donate a portion of the profit from each gallon of gas we sell on the first Wednesday of each month back to local schools. With almost 100 busy stores and 24 hours, that’s a lot of money raised every month,” Parker’s said in the post.
QuikTrip recently partnered with the Kansas City Royals Foundation and mascot Charlie Hustle to release a Communi-TEE benefiting the Royals Literacy League program.
“This fun tee captures the spirit of Kansas City with a charming baseball-themed KC Heart and a regal golden crown. Perfect for fans and families alike, each purchase helps support the program’s mission to foster a love of reading and provide instructional support to increase literacy rates for Kansas City students,” QuikTrip said in a press release.
Money from the campaign will help bolster literacy efforts, including providing instructional coaches and intensive tutoring, with a goal to increase literacy rates in Royals Literacy League schools by at least 10 percentage points.
