EV adoption has steadily been growing over the last decade, said Seth Cutler, CEO of IONNA. With the rise in EV drivers, there is inevitably an increased need for charging infrastructure.

“Installing an EV charger has historically been met with various barriers, including initial cost of equipment, installation charges, the cost of electricity and more,” Cutler said. “There are other barriers happening behind the scenes, for example, the time it takes to file paperwork with the city to get an EV charger approved.”

According to Cutler, “Choosing the right partner can alleviate the burden on a c-store operator. At IONNA, we cover all capital costs, all operational expenses and we pay rent to have our product hosted at your location.”

Ricardo Stamatti, Chief Product and Technology Officer of IONNA, said that IONNA is designed to be a full-service partner. “We’re not a hardware seller or a software vendor. When we deploy, for example, at a c-store, we bring the dispensers, the energy system and the customer service, as well as a brand with a long-term service model.”

“All a c-store has to do is raise their hand and say ‘I think I’m a great location for a Rechargery.’ We come in and say, ‘We agree’ and then we handle the rest,” Stamatti explained.

IONNA works with its investors and site partners to drive traffic to Rechargery locations through its digital integration. Cutler noted that IONNA is built into the navigation systems of many cars so when EV drivers search for a charging location near them, it leads them directly to a Rechargery. Additionally, IONNA chargers can be easily found in Google Maps, Apple Maps, and other crowdsourced navigation tools.

The EV driver is a customer base that’s here to stay, Stamatti said. “Our goal is to help c-stores future-proof for these customers—and open America’s roads to EVs.”
