Rutter’s Children’s Charities donated $50,000 to the nonprofit Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania. The funds are “dedicated to building a tiny home and providing individualized services for a veteran facing homelessness.”

According to the press release, Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania built and is now operating “Veterans Grove” in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to assist those in need of housing after transitioning from military to civilian life. The community is nestled on a five-acre parcel located in south Harrisburg and consists of 15 tiny homes. It also includes a large community center where veterans can enjoy meals together and receive peer and counselor support.

“Rutter’s Children’s Charities stepped up to sponsor the 15th of the 15 tiny homes and is a major part of a transformational vision that has attracted an outpouring of generosity from veterans’ service organizations, places of worship, businesses, foundations, government leaders, charitable partners and individuals in the past four years,” Rutter’s said.

Following a recent in-store round up campaign, Enmarket donated $28,227.29 to nine United Way organizations across the three states in which the Savannah-based convenience retailer operates. While most of the total came from the campaign, the company headquarters contributed the final $5,000.

“We are proud that 110 locations participated in this fundraising drive, where customers had the option to round up their purchase, with the change going to United Way,” said Matt Clements, president of Enmarket. “The donations will be used at the discretion of each of the recipient United Ways.”

According to the press release, the donations were distributed to United Way groups in the communities where the funds were raised.
