Krispy Krunchy Chicken launched a new $4 value meal, entering the summer value meal arena.

“Value is more important than ever in today’s economy, and that’s especially true for our operators’ guests. We represent quality, cravability and value—and so as these guests demand more value, we’re finding a way to make it happen without compromising on quality,” said Jim Norberg, CEO of Krispy Krunchy Chicken. “Our operators recognize the need to keep traffic strong, and this offer will do that.”

With the new value meal, guests can choose from two pieces of dark meat bone-in fried chicken or two hand-breaded white-meat Cajun Tenders. The bone-in option includes a choice of a 2-piece combo of hand-breaded mildly Cajun-spiced drumsticks, thighs or full wings. Each meal is served with Krispy Krunchy potato wedges.

The $4 value meal will be available Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at participating locations while supplies last. This offer is not available for ordering through DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub or other digital platforms.

Earlier this year, Krispy Krunchy Chicken served "Your Choice" meal deals. That limited time deal featured a choice between three of the brand's products, each served with Krispy Krunchy potato wedges, for $5.99.

QuikChek kicked off the summer with its summer value menu, which includes 2-for-$5 breakfast combos, $6 subs, and $3 or $4 cold drinks. The retailer is also capitalizing on the summer’s spicy flavor trend with a hot honey menu, offering spicy sub options, hot honey biscuit options with its mix-and-match breakfast offerings, and new Honey Kissed Oatmilk Lattes served hot, iced, and frozen, all made with real honey.

EG America also launched value-based combos, including a $4 deal for two donuts and a large hot or iced coffee, and a $5 meal deal that includes any two roller grill or pizza items, a drink and a side of chips. Drink options include a Pepsi Mountain Dew, Aquafina or Brisk one liter, and customers can choose between Lay’s, Miss Vickie’s, Ruffles or Sun Chips.

Larger QSRs, like McDonald’s and Burger King, announced $5 meal deals designed to draw in customers. McDonald’s had stated that restrained consumer spending was one reason for a lack of growth in Q1, announcing that it was increasing its promotions and deals across most of its U.S. locations to entice customers that are focused on getting more bang for their buck.

Recently, McDonald’s said that customers were placing fewer orders year over year as consumers try to save money and hunt for a deal. “Overall McDonald’s reported net income in the June quarter of $2.02 billion, down more than 12% from a year earlier,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
