Daphne, Alabama-based fuel distributor Gulf Energy and real estate developer 68 Ventures are in the beginning stages of a partnership that will bring new retailers to the Gulf Coast region of Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi.

Gulf Energy said the partnership with the real estate developer would rapidly expand its fuel distribution network and new-to-industry convenience store portfolio, and the two aim to have new storefronts open within the next 12 months.

“The partnership between Gulf Energy and 68 Ventures is aimed at leveraging our complementary strengths in real estate development, retail operations, and fuel distribution,” Joel Poe, CEO and president of Gulf Energy, told NACS Daily.

“This alliance enhances our market presence and ability to serve a broader range of communities, ensuring we meet the high standards and expectations of our customers,” Poe added.

“The most exciting aspect of this partnership is the aspiration to transform the energy landscape in the Gulf Coast region and bring a dedicated ‘hometown’ brand and operator to this region, giving the communities, companies, and organizations we serve the best overall customer experience,” Poe told NACS Daily.

By combining the strengths of the two companies, “we are poised to create a more efficient, customer-focused service network that enhances the quality of life for the communities we serve,” said Poe.

Poe said Gulf Energy and 68 Ventures decided to collaborate due to their shared vision for the Gulf Coast. “We are committed to being change agents for the overall success and development of this region. The energy aspect is a crucial piece of that vision. Both companies see this as an opportune moment to combine our resources and expertise to address the increasing demand for high-quality fuel and premier convenience store locations,” he said.
