EG America recently supported Toys for Tots and the U.S. Marine Corps through its annual holiday toy drive. Team members at its headquarters in Westborough, Massachusetts, brought in toys to donate to children in need for the holidays. “In addition, Novelty, Inc., Starmaker, Global Consumer Products and Lynco Products, all of which provide toys, novelty items and accessories for our stores, also donated items,” wrote EG America in an email statement.
“We appreciate the generosity of our team members and our partners who are helping to make the holiday brighter for many children this year,” said John Carey, president and CEO of EG America. “We’d also like to thank the U.S. Marine Corps for all the work they do for the Toys for Tots program during the holiday season.”
In addition to Toys for Tots, EG America also held its annual fundraiser for DAV (Disabled American Veterans), raising $800,000 for the nonprofit “that provides a lifetime of support to veterans and their families.”
Throughout the month of November, guests visiting EG America’s Certified Oil, Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf N’ Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Sprint Food Stores, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill stores were encouraged to donate $1, $5 or an amount of their choosing to DAV.
This was the company’s sixth consecutive fundraiser for DAV, and “surpasses all previous years’ donation amounts,” said EG America. Members of EG America’s leadership team presented a check to Coleman Nee, DAV’s national senior vice commander, at the company’s headquarters in Westborough, Massachusetts.
“We are proud to partner with DAV and continue our support of the tremendous work the organization does for our nation’s veterans.” said Carey. “We are thankful for the generosity of our guests and the commitment of our team members for making this fundraiser a success year after year.”
