Rich Products announced its latest sweet treat for c-store shelves: double chocolate filled donut bites, which it said combines three food trends into one. The donut bites cover an increasing demand for donuts, grab-and-go snacks, and desire for indulgence, the company said.
Rich’s stated that the double chocolate filled donut bites are ideal for convenience stores with labor constraints and “are the perfect portable option for consumers seeking casual snacks or sweets on the go.” The 1.3-ounce donut bites come frozen with 220 per case, are ready to thaw and serve or heat and serve.
Donuts are an American favorite, as 86% of consumers love or like donuts, and the predicted market growth for donut holes in the next four years is 34%, according to SNAP! Datassential—Menucast Food Profile, March 2024. Rich’s also cited FMI (The Food Retailing Industry Speaks, 2023), stating that consumers are looking for items that are grab-and-go as well as something that will satisfy their cravings.
“Rich’s Donut Bites offer operators a decadent and delicious solution for on-the-go, treat-yourself moments throughout the day without adding significant labor,” explained Elizabeth Sommer, customer marketing manager, Rich Products.
The double chocolate filled donut bites join Rich’s portfolio of filled donut holes, which includes jumbo birthday cake filled donut bites with vanilla frosting filling and French toast cake filled donut bites with maple filling.
The company noted that the donut bites have “endless opportunities for decorating and frosting to finish them off” and that c-store operators can elevate their menu by creating “Instagrammable treats, like donut pops, parfaits and breakfast skewers.”
