When customers sign up for MVP Rewards at Subway, the QSR will match their current point total from another qualifying restaurant program.

"With the industry's first-ever loyalty program point match, National Sandwich Day is the perfect opportunity for sandwich lovers to refresh their restaurant loyalty and see why Subway MVP Rewards is the only program that truly makes them feel like MVPs," said Mike Kappitt, chief operating and insights officer at Subway.

"Subway's MVP Rewards unlocks an even more rewarding Subway guest experience for our more than 32 million members, and we're celebrating on National Sandwich Day with a special opportunity for new members to join and enjoy more of what they love from Subway," said Kappitt.

Subway moved to a tiered reward system in September. The tiers are pro, captain and all-star and offer different rewards based on a customer’s annual spending. Also, in August, Subway’s acquisition by Roark Capital was finalized in $9.6 billion deal.

In other National Sandwich Day-related news, Lay’s debuted a sandwich-inspired potato chip flavor—Lay's Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup—at BravoCon 2023, the three-day fandom event of the year that celebrates all things Bravo. “There's no duo more iconic than Lay's potato chips and sandwiches. Now, Lay's—America's favorite potato chip brand—is bringing the best of both worlds together with the help of Bravolebrities who know a thing or two about sandwiches: ‘Vanderpump Rules’ stars Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney,” the company said in a press release.
