INDIANAPOLIS – Taco Bell is inviting potential workers to “Hiring Parties,” designed to create excitement over filling out a job application, QSR Magazine reports. The parties feature free food, games, onsite interviews and a signing bonus in the form of gift cards.

The parties are part of the chain’s Start With Us, Stay With Us initiative it started as a way to retain hourly and managerial workers. Earlier this year, Taco Bell extended its Guild Education program to all employees at its U.S. locations, which has helped with retention. The company would like to bring 100,000 new people into its workforce by 2022.

Taco Bell uses the hiring parties to fill positions from management to front line. The company also touts its benefits program, which has three medical plans, access to physicians who can prescribe medications over the phone, basic term life insurance, paid vacation days, flexible spending accounts and 401(k) plans. The Guild program allows employees to receive discounts at its education partners for certificate programs, English-as-a-second-language and bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

This week, seven chains announced they would halt practices that might limit employee wages and chance of advancement. McDonald's, Auntie Anne's, Arby's, Carl's Jr., Jimmy John's, Cinnabon and Buffalo Wild Wings have agreed to abolish “no poaching” policies among their franchisees.
